As well as serving as time-tested driveway contractors, we serve as the local paving contractor for domestic and commercial clients throughout Surrey and Hampshire, from Farnham to Guildford, Godalming to Haslemere. Based in Hindhead, Andrew James Driveways build stunning patios and paths that can completely revolutionise the way you use your garden.
A patio is a great area to entertain on warm summer evenings, and can become an eye-catching centrepiece which both adds usable space and a ton of value to your property at-large. They can be built out of a real range of materials, which we’ve outlined the advantages and disadvantages of below, and in all sorts of different sizes and styles. To see some examples of the patios we’ve built over the years, check out our previous projects page. All our finished patios and paths come with 5-year guarantees on workmanship.
There are many different types of stone that are perfect for patios and paving. For example, granite is well known for its unmatched durability, making it ideal for a paving contractor surfacing a high-traffic area. It comes in many different subtly different shades of grey, which have a modern and minimalist feel. Then there’s limestone, which is exciting due to its combination of natural veining and textures, and immaculate finish.
Other types of stone which prove popular amongst our Farnham, Guildford, Godalming, Haslemere and Hindhead clients include slate and sandstone. The former is very on-trend, and is either hand-riven or diamond-sawn. More traditional properties may prefer a multi-tone slate, while a modern patio or path might opt for a soft, blue and black aesthetic. The latter gives an upbeat, Mediterranean vibe to patios and paths. It can be sourced in many different colours, to match its surrounds.
A timeless choice, brick is long lasting, sturdy and affordable. It’s ideal for situations where a paving contractor needs to design and build a patio or path which matches a traditional, rustic property. The brick can match an older property’s exterior, and create a thematic and aesthetic consistency. Due to it being so versatile, we work with brick for all intents and purposes – driveways, walls, patios, edging, paths, you name it!
Shaped like bricks and available in all sorts of different sizes and colours, block paving can be arranged in all sorts of different patterns. This allows you to get really creative in the design phase, and make your patio or paving unique to your property, and complimentary to its surrounds. Many of our clients in and around Farnham, Guildford, Godalming, Haslemere and Hindhead use block paving as decorative edging around paved areas to add some extra aesthetic appeal.
